Reviving Folk Culture

Folk cultures and traditions are our grass root cultural heritage that has been associated with both rural and urban societies from time immemorial. It has enriched India as a tourist destination and highlighted the country overseas as multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-language highly diverse culturally rich nation. Folk cultures are represented through folk songs, music, instruments, traditional handicrafts using various locally available natural resources, nature and mythology based paintings, architectures, sculptures, pottery, dance and drama as well as folk theaters. Unfortunately, these traditional folk cultures are at decline and needs our serious attention for revitalization, preservation and protection from extinction. We have been working extensively towards the preservation of these rich local cultural heritage and economic empowerment through training and specific skill building programs for local artisans and craftsmen.
