Mindfulness

Often in our daily lives our mind explores far and beyond the reality of the present time and moment. During stress and anxiety too; we saturate our mind with thoughts of past experiences and future possibilities and stay away from our present existence. We do our work mechanically while our mind explores somewhere else. This is regarded as the ‘auto-pilot’ mode. We wait too long for something positive to happen in the distant future based on our past positive or negative experiences. But we fail to acknowledge the fact that our present is thus slipping away beneath our fingers. ‘Mindfulness’ is just the opposite of this ‘auto pilot-mode’ and often synonymously referred to as the ‘being mode’. In other words, mindfulness is the state of self- awareness, self-management and social awareness. An individual is complete only when he/she is aware of himself/herself and the contemporary society; as well as capable of managing, concentrating, focusing or controlling his/her thoughts and actions. This empowers and can lift an individual to the level of a supreme being. Traditional Indian education and philosophy (Non-Formal Education) offers several methods and techniques that enable us to have significant control over our body and mind which are essential for achieving success in life. We aim to disseminate, propagate, share and conserve such traditional practices and education to be adopted in our modern life style for a better all rounded and enriched experience of life.
